Japan Academy Prize (2016)

Professor Emeritus Kenichi Miyamoto (Faculty of Business)

On 14 March 2016 the Japan Academy’s 1097^th General Meeting awarded OCU Professor Emeritus Kenichi Miyamoto and 8 other persons with the Japan Academy Prize in recognition of their academic research publications.

Professor Miyamoto, whose field of research is Environmental Economics and Finance, received the prize for his book ‘A Critical History of Environmental Pollution in Postwar Japan’, published by Iwanami Shoten in July 2014. The book was valued as the first work analyzing pollution in post-war Japan from a politico-economic point of view.

Professor Miyamoto delivered a special award lecture at the OCU Sugimoto Campus on 22 December 2016.
